{"id":5,"date":"2010-11-30T19:43:20","date_gmt":"2010-12-01T02:43:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost:8888\/DizzyDaze\/?p=1"},"modified":"2013-03-19T21:33:38","modified_gmt":"2013-03-20T04:33:38","slug":"hello-world-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dizzydaze.com\/?p=5","title":{"rendered":"About Dizzy Daze (2010)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This was from 2010. \u00a0We&#8217;re just keeping it so people can remind themselves what they did.<\/p>\n<p><em>All the pain and suffering of an ultra, without the annoying change in scenery!<br \/>\n<\/em><br \/>\n<strong> Dizzy Daze 13.1\/26.2\/50K\/100K<br \/>\nMarch 26, 2011 \u2013 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.<br \/>\n6:00 a.m. Early Start<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Dizzy Daze is held at beautiful Green Lake Park in Seattle, Wa.\u00a0 The race uses the outer running loop around the lake.\u00a0 Runners\u00a0will travel counter-clockwise on the groomed dirt path.\u00a0 The\u00a0total distance of the loop is\u00a0approximately 3.2 miles; you will run 4 loops plus a short out &amp; back for the half marathon, 8 loops plus an out &amp; back for the full marathon, 10 loops for the 50K (yes, you&#8217;ll run a bonus mile, for which you will not be charged extra) and 19 loops plus an out &amp; back for the 100K.<\/p>\n<p>For those with more sense there will be a 13.1-mile and an official 26.2-mile marathon distance (not a certified BQ, sorry).\u00a0 The\u00a013.1 will be\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.halffanatics.com\/\">Half Fanatics<\/a> applicable, and the marathon distance will fulfill\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.marathonmaniacs.com\/\">Marathon Maniacs<\/a> requirements. The trail is a partially paved, pancake-flat loop, making\u00a0it a great course for a PR or to attempt a new distance.<\/p>\n<p>There will be one fully stocked aid station with all the usual ultra-kibble:\u00a0 water; PowerBar gels, energy blasts and sports drink; \u00a0electrolyte caps; a selection of sweet and salty snacks and pizza later in the day.<\/p>\n<p>Dizzy Daze is the brainchild of Jonathan Bernard, who along with Sam Thompson set out to create Seattle&#8217;s hardest and easiest 50K\/100K races.
